Web Hooked

Before I could start, I needed to set up a profile in IFTTT.com as they are the bridge to the Arduino cloud.
Instructions were then provided on how to write an applet which will post “Message Applet” data into a spreadsheet. Well, nothing is ever easy if its worth doing right. It turns out that IFTTT has changed their business model since the tutorial was posted, and webhooks are no longer offered under their “free tier”… there wasa good bit of outrange from the community on reddit, and they’ve listed some possible alternate services to check out… of course, I have no idea how complicated its going to be if I need to finesse the ifttt code to work with someone else’s servers… guess I’m going to find out.

The first alternate is n8n.io. There is a free to DL version that they posted to github. This is a good sign! I’m downloading it now…

I also downloaded a copy of googlehome to my phone as my initial skim lead me to believe it would be useful to have for keeping track of the Colonel when away from home.
